Beautiful!

Wow! How did you do those curved dove tail corners? That is beautiful.

Adam said...

I cheated. I did the dovetails first and then cut, planed, and sanded the curve afterward.

Still, they look perfect.

They were pretty damn close. I was very proud of myself for how tight the dovetails actually were.

Anyhow, add this one to my repertoire now and the list of things I'm willing to create or make variations on.

Today, I start again on the lamp tables and hopefully finish them soon.

it is very pretty. so, should i not ask waht it is used for? i have this fear that it should be obvious...

No, it's just a box. She said she wanted me to make her something and a box would be fine. Right now, I believe her intention is to store a small hand-carved soapstone chess set she picked up in Brazil.

The interior is 9" by 11 1/2" by roughly 3 1/2", so it would fit standard sized paper or small loose things.

When I said paper, I didn't mean like a ream of printer paper or something. Like letters, important papers, keepsakes, things like that.

or love notes...

You could most definitely keep love notes in this box.
