Stuff with pencils

Months and months ago, Scott sent me a link to this article about sculptures made with pencils in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Faber Castell. The commissioned artist was Kerstin Schulz.

I held onto the link but kept neglecting to post about it. Today was the day, but I thought I would see what else was going on in the pencil realm, not satisfied with just spiky furniture.

Here is the gallery of Jennifer Maestre where she uses the same procedure with a much more fluid outcome.

And also, these two Japanese guys who are very, very, very good with small knives.

I promise you won't be disappointed if you click on any of the links above. They all lead to galleries of really amazing and innovative stuff. I am biased though because intricacy appeals to me.

Now that looks like a truely uncomfortable chair. (I'm referring to Ed's post a few weeks back)

wow, a may zing

I've seen pictures of a house that was lined with pencil murals, I'll try to find a link.

The Japanese guys are straight up crazy.

Was it with the pencils turned sideways or was it cross-sections/pixelized?
