Geeked out on wood

One of my industry rags has a slick, new website and I'm digging it. Even Woodshop News has blogs and online columnists. Yup, old bearded guys tapping away on their computers writing conversational posts. There's a local dude that might catch a clue, but I won't call him out. Although, it's not like he reads any blogs anyway.

Though, the bloggers aren't bearded. One rocks the fumanchu and the other is clean. I enjoyed this near Rooney-like post by David DeCristoforo.

In other woodworking news, the world is as bleak as elsewhere:
According to accounting firm Smith Leonard, orders for furniture from U.S. factories declined by 17% in July versus the same month last year.

The downturn in cabinet production is now in its 22nd month of negative performance.

Year-to-date cabinet sales have dropped 17.2% against 2007, with stock cabinet sales down 19.2%, custom sales down 17.4%, and semi-custom sales off 15.3%.
Nice.
